When Kaalia’s ghost starts haunting Aryan, the latter leaves his house out of fear for his life and goes on a trip with his girlfriend Jenny (Krissy Virk) . But strange things start happening on their tour... Credits adapted from Bollywood Hungama: Kaalia had a poor opening of 2.10 crore on its first day, but picked up on the second day, garnering 2.70 crore taking its first weekend collections to 5.80 crore nett. " Kaalia" was further dented by the Monday holiday as it collected around 1.80 as compared to Friday's collections of 3.10 crore nett and Saturday's 3.40 crore nett thus taking its first week total to 13.00-14. 00 crore nett. Kaalia opened to negative reviews from critics. Bollywood Hungama rated it 2 out of 5 saying "On the whole, Kaalia somehow fails to scare and ends up as a big bore." The film not only got negative comments from critics, but many even went on to compare the movie with Bhatt’s own creations. The director Vikram Bhatt has also made a short film based on the same story. It was called ‘Ek Prem Kaalia’. It was released on his YouTube channel on 23 May 2014. The short film is set in 80’s Delhi and has Sujoy Wankhede, Tia Bajpai, Avinash Sachdev, Umang Jain in pivotal roles.
